Privacy Policy

Bitcoin Guy World is a children's educational publishing brand operated by JOZ Group Pty Ltd, Australia.
Website: bitcoinguyworld.com. Privacy enquiries: hello@bitcoinguyworld.com.
This policy explains our handling of personal information and applies to visitors, purchasers, newsletter subscribers and people who contact us.

1 Who we are

Bitcoin Guy World is a children's educational publishing brand operated by JOZ Group Pty Ltd, Australia.

Website: bitcoinguyworld.com

Privacy enquiries: hello@bitcoinguyworld.com

2 Information we collect

For current digital purchases, checkout collects an email address. We also process order identifiers, products ordered, payment amounts, payment status (Bitcoin or card) and transaction information needed to confirm and fulfil orders.

We may collect names, email addresses and message contents submitted through support or contact forms.

For physical book orders, we expect to collect recipient name, shipping address and contact information needed for delivery.

Our website infrastructure may process IP addresses, browser information, request logs and security-related information.

The Bitcoin Guy World Club collects email addresses and subscription preferences for the newsletter and free five-page activity pack.

3 How we use information

We use information to verify Bitcoin and card payments; deliver digital books and the free activity pack; arrange physical printing and shipping; respond to enquiries; maintain records; protect the website; improve its performance; and send newsletter or promotional emails to subscribers in accordance with applicable law.

We do not sell personal information.

4 Bitcoin and card payments

Bitcoin payments are processed through our BTCPay Server infrastructure. Relevant transaction information can be publicly visible on the Bitcoin blockchain and may be permanent.

We may link a payment reference or transaction identifier to an order for verification, customer service and recordkeeping.

We never ask customers to disclose wallet private keys or seed phrases.

Card payments are processed by Stripe on a secure checkout page hosted by Stripe at checkout.stripe.com. You enter your card details directly with Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number or card security code.

For card orders, Stripe provides us with your email address, the payment status, amount and currency, and Stripe order references so we can deliver your purchase. Stripe may also provide the name and billing details entered at checkout. Our Stripe account may show limited card information, such as card brand, last four digits and expiry date, which we use only for customer service, refunds and dispute handling.

Stripe processes card payment information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy, and may use payment and device information to prevent fraud.

5 Service providers and disclosures

We use the following service providers:

  • Netlify for hosting and serverless website functions
  • Cloudflare for DNS, security, analytics and R2 digital-file storage
  • BTCPay Server and related infrastructure for Bitcoin payments
  • Stripe for card payments
  • Brevo for newsletter subscriptions and transactional email
  • Proton for business correspondence
  • Lulu for printing and shipping physical books when that service launches

Information is disclosed to providers only where reasonably necessary for those purposes or otherwise permitted or required by law. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or regulators where appropriate.

6 Overseas handling

Although the operator is an Australian company, these services and their subcontractors may store, access or process information outside Australia. Specific countries and hosting locations may vary by provider and configuration.

We take reasonable steps appropriate to applicable law when using overseas service providers. We do not represent that all personal information stays in Australia.

7 Analytics, cookies and security

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate site measurement; Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free. Other essential site, security or third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies. Our Cookie Policy provides further detail.

Technical and organisational security measures are used to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, misuse, loss or disclosure, but no online system is completely secure.

8 Newsletter and free activity pack

When you subscribe to the Bitcoin Guy World Club, we use your email address to deliver the five-page activity pack and send news, offers and educational updates.

You can unsubscribe using the link in marketing emails or by emailing us. We may retain a minimal suppression record to respect your unsubscribe preference. Order-related messages may still be sent where necessary to fulfil a purchase.

9 Children

Our books and activities are made for children, but website purchasing and newsletter signup are intended for adults, parents or guardians.

We do not knowingly seek personal information directly from children for marketing. If a parent or guardian believes a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10 Retention and deletion

We retain transaction, tax and accounting records for periods required by applicable law, generally at least five years for relevant Australian business records, and longer where legally necessary.

We generally aim to delete or de-identify resolved support correspondence after 12 months unless needed for an ongoing issue or legal obligation.

Newsletter contact details are retained while subscribed; after unsubscribe we remove the person from active marketing and may retain limited suppression information.

Digital download links should be time-limited; operational access logs and temporary delivery data should be minimised and deleted on a documented schedule after the systems are verified.

Records held by service providers, including Stripe and BTCPay Server, are also subject to their applicable settings and retention requirements. Public blockchain records cannot be erased by us.

These retention objectives are subject to implementation and verification of the relevant systems.

11 Access, correction and privacy complaints

Email hello@bitcoinguyworld.com to request access to or correction of personal information we hold, or to raise a privacy concern.

We may verify identity before disclosing information. We aim to respond to complaints within 30 days.

If dissatisfied, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12 External links and policy changes

Other websites have their own privacy practices. We may update this policy when our products, services, providers or legal obligations change. The updated date will appear on this page.
